* * * * * * * Step 3 - Prepare movie by checking downloaded files
After downloading the movie from your provider's newsserver (if your provider does not offer a good usenet service please get an account at Newshosting.com), you'll have a large amount of seperate files in your Grabit download folder. Sometimes they appear to be (partly) corrupted. Using QuickPAR you can repair these damaged files. If you have too many damaged files please try another news server.
You can start the check and repair procedure by opening the folder where GrabIt has stored your downloaded files. You'll see a bunch of .par, .rar or some other files. Next, double-click a .PAR2 file belonging to the movie you just downloaded. A new window will open and QuickPAR will start checking the downloaded movie files for errors or missing files. Make sure you select the 'Autorepair' option in this window and wait untill the program has finished. You can now safely close the QuickPAR window.
Now, assuming you did not receive any error messages, you have a complete set of working files. Yet they are still compressed and cut in pieces, so in the next step we will unpack the movie. Note: If you have too many damaged files please try another news server. We recommend Newshosting.com for quality and price.
